| Description African Crop Science Journal was established in 1993 with the primary objective of providing a forum for publishing research results and reviews on troipical crop science that can be readily accessed by researchers and development agencies in Africa and other developing countries. The most important characteristic of the journal is that it addresses in an integrated manner all aspects of crop science and production. The fields covered are mainly crop agronomy, production, genetics and breeding, germplasm, crop protection, soil science and management, postharvest and utilisation, agroforestry, crop-animal interactions, agricultural economics and agribusiness, agricultural extension and rural socialogy, environmental issues and agricultural information. The journal also publishes ahtoritative reviews , usually by invitation; and short-communications dealing with original findings not warranting publication as full papers. It also has a book review and advertisement section. To encourage dialogue on topical issues, the journal maintains a Forum Section where issues of current contention are discussed. We also publish Supplementary Issues on emerging themes in crop science and production. The Journal is supported by an International Editorial Advisory Board.
